Welcome to Your Guide to Coil Insertion
You have chosen a coil (copper or hormonal) as your method of contraception following discussion with our nurse. This page provides important information to help you understand what to expect before, during, and after your coil fitting.
A coil is a highly effective and long-acting form of contraception. It is fitted into the womb by a trained doctor or nurse during a short procedure. Pain relief will be discussed and offered. Most people have the fitting in a clinic setting and are able to return home shortly afterwards.
This information is designed to support what you have already discussed.
